Waking up to a snow day is great. You get to sleep in, and you don’t have to worry about the stress of school for a day, but when should the school close? In my opinion, I think that school should close if temperatures are below 20 degrees, or if there is ice on the sidewalk or roads. If temperatures are below 10 degrees, then the buses might not work as well, and standing at the bus stop could be potentially dangerous. Some streets that students live on and don’t get plowed could also be piled with snow, and it could be hard to get to the bus stop. Students could also slip on ice and get hurt, or buses could skid. Brianna Garman, 8th Grade, says, “They should close school when the weather is below 18 degrees.”  I agree with this, and I think that it’s an acceptable wind chill to close school. When do you think that school should close?
