NMS Participates in StoryCorps Great Thanksgiving Listen

Over Thanksgiving break kids on team Arches and Zion had a once in a lifetime homework assignment. Every kid in Mrs.McKarns’s or in Mrs.Rushau’s class had to interview someone for the StoryCorps Great Thanksgiving Listen 2019. They could interview a relative, parent, or just an adult in the kids’ life. These interviews could be just for them or they could have been submitted it into the StoryCorps library for everyone to listen to. “StoryCorps’ mission is to preserve and share humanity’s stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world” which is stated on the StoryCorps app. Their goal is to spread culture and pass on stories. When the kids came back to school they got to write about their experience interviewing their person. Mrs.McKarnes, the language arts teacher on team Zion stated: “Listening to the interviews has been one of the highlights of my year.” The app is available to all school IPads so I encourage you to join The Great Thanksgiving Listen or just interview someone for fun, you never know what you’re going to learn.
